King Charles III of Great Britain received Mukhtar Babayev, Minister of Ecology of Azerbaijan, appointed President of COP29.

"Today, His Majesty King Charles III, President of COP28 Dr. Sultan Al-Jabir welcomed the Troika of COP Chairs, represented by Mukhtar Babayev, the designated president of COP29, and Ana Toni, Brazil's national secretary for climate change.

The Troika of COP Chairs is an unprecedented collaboration between COP host states, with the aim of maintaining momentum, building continuity, strengthening implementation and building a bridge of progress between COPs," the statement said.
