Concerns over the Zangezur corridor are growing in Iran.

Axar.az reports that the chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, Ibrahim Azizi, spoke out against the Zangezur corridor.

He told the "Mehr" news agency that the Islamic Republic considers the Zangezur corridor a “red line” and will respond firmly to any changes at the border.

According to Ibrahim Azizi, the geopolitical processes surrounding the Zangezur corridor are not in Iran's interests.

The Iranian MP stated that if his country's territorial integrity is threatened, Tehran will defend itself.

The statement by the Iranian parliamentarian has been met with almost celebratory approval in Armenia, as Armenian media outlets quickly circulated Ibrahim Azizi’s remarks.

It should be noted that this is the third loud statement by Iranian officials regarding the Zangezur corridor in the past week. Previously, Iran's ambassador to Armenia, Mehdi Sobhani, and Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi made similar comments.
