This year, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) plans to invest about 500 million euros in Armenia.

Axar.az reports that this was said by the president of the bank, Odil Reno-Basso, who is on a visit to Yerevan.

According to him, the amount includes the 236 million euro loan signed today and intended for the construction of the Garakilsa-Gajaran section of the North-South highway.

Reno-Basso said that this is the biggest bank deal in the history of Armenia.

The bank is also preparing to offer new projects for the employment of Armenians who moved from Karabakh.

It was reported that the bank intends to sign 8 agreements on credit lines with the private sector of Armenia within the framework of the annual meeting, one of which was signed with one of the banks the day before.

In addition, the EBRD intends to continue supporting the financial sector in Armenia, including through the implementation of capital market development programs in the country.
