South Ossetia residents are trying to join Russia. Such a decision will especially resonate in the context of relations with Abkhazia and Georgia.

Axar.az reports that these words were expressed by Konstantin Zatulin, a deputy of the State Duma of Russia.

"It is important to give an honest answer to the open question. I understand this answer as follows. Firstly, I have no doubt that the residents of South Ossetia are showing efforts to join the territory of the Russian Federation. However, such a decision will undoubtedly have its resonance. There are no problems in the relations between the Russian Federation and South Ossetia. Nevertheless, the Russian Federation should be cautious in the matter of annexation of the republic," he said.

Viktor Sobolev, a member of the Defense Committee of the State Duma, also supports South Ossetia's accession to Russia after the unification with North Ossetia. He claims that Russian citizens reside in the region.
