Abbas Araghchi, the former deputy foreign minister of Iran, will most likely become the head of the foreign policy department in the government of the new President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Axar.az reports that the "Tasnim" agency reported on this with reference to sources close to the elected president.

According to the agency's sources, Arakchi already works as Pezeshkian's foreign policy adviser. In particular, he advised the president-elect during his recent telephone conversations with leaders of Islamic Resistance groups and heads of state in the region.
