A state of emergency has been imposed in the Kursk region due to ongoing attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Axar.az reports that Alexey Smirnov, acting head of the region, informed about this on the Telegram channel.

"A difficult operational situation remains in the Kursk region, in the border areas, in order to eliminate the consequences of the entry of enemy forces into the territory of the region, I have decided to impose a state of emergency in the Kursk region from today," A. Smirnov stressed.

Smirnov added that until operational conditions improve, he will personally coordinate the work of the forces of the unified state system for the prevention and elimination of emergency situations.

According to the government of the Kursk region, several thousand people have left the border regions of the Kursk region, and more than 600 of them have been placed in temporary detention centers.
