Ukraine's chargé d'affaires in Georgia has been recalled.
Axar.az reports that Ukraine's new foreign minister, Andrey Sybiha, wrote this on his social media account.
The minister explained this step by saying that the recalled diplomat did not fully understand the realities of diplomacy in a country at war. He also called on Ukraine’s ambassadors and consuls not to wait for instructions from the center but to take an active stance.
Meanwhile, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated that Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrey Sybiha dismissed the chargé d'affaires in Tbilisi because he bought a washing machine.
"According to the information we have, the diplomat's dismissal is not a political act. A representative with diplomatic status bought household items, which was considered inappropriate given the backdrop of war. This led to his dismissal. We're talking about washing machines," Kobakhidze noted.
It should be noted that Mikhail Kharishin was in charge of Ukraine's embassy in Georgia.
