Biden and Netanyahu discuss hostage release

A phone conversation took place between U.S. President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Axar.az reports that according to Jake Sullivan, the U.S. National Security Advisor, the two leaders discussed new possibilities for the release of 101 hostages remaining in Gaza following the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.

"They agreed that there are opportunities for progress on the release of hostages and that they would work together to achieve this goal," Sullivan stated.

Biden also congratulated Netanyahu and the Israeli military on the elimination of Sinwar.

Previously, there were reports that President Biden would be having a phone call with Netanyahu regarding the death of Yahya Sinwar, the head of Hamas’s Political Bureau.
