Those trying to discredit Azerbaijan should no longer be given any importance. Baku has reached a status where it is no longer concerned with the pseudo-criticism from Western countries.

Axar.az reports that Russian political analyst Yevgeny Mikhailov mentioned this in an interview with 'Moscow-Baku' regarding the Western campaign against Azerbaijan at COP29.

"For Western countries, criticism against the Republic of Azerbaijan is a traditional policy. The West has always sought reasons to criticize Azerbaijan and to boycott its large-scale international events. However, this has never stopped Baku nor hindered it from gaining significant reputation points. For a long time, this country has been an excellent host for various events, ranging from politics to sports. Azerbaijan's status in the international arena has been increasing dramatically. In recent years, Baku has been fighting for justice worldwide in various fields. As the chair of the Non-Aligned Movement, the second-largest international organization, Azerbaijan has undertaken considerable efforts not only to strengthen this structure but also to protect the rights and interests of developing countries globally," he stated.

Mikhailov noted that Baku has begun to raise the issue of combating neocolonialism and is actively promoting this direction:

"Azerbaijan has also proposed to the world the cessation of conflicts ahead of the climate conference. This proposal has been supported by 127 countries that are members of the Non-Aligned Movement. This means that Baku's initiative is backed by the majority of countries worldwide. In other words, everything Azerbaijan undertakes is aimed not only at realizing national interests but also at positively changing the situation globally. From this perspective, we can say that Azerbaijan has long surpassed the limits of a purely regional state and, in recent years, has been dictating the agenda not only in the South Caucasus but beyond. There is no doubt that Baku will successfully host COP29, and the solutions proposed by Azerbaijan, as well as by the collective global majority, will represent a significant milestone in the climate agenda."
