Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping held their first meeting in five years on Wednesday at the BRICS Summit in Russia.

Axar.az reports that this meeting comes shortly after the two countries agreed to resume patrols in the disputed areas along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh, effectively ending a four-year military standoff.

During their discussions, both leaders praised the border agreement and emphasized the importance of managing differences and disputes to maintain peace and stability in border regions. They highlighted the need for increased communication and cooperation, as well as the importance of building mutual trust, indicating a potential thaw in relations for the first time since 2020.
