Hundreds of doctors and medical workers have written a letter to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, urging him to release imprisoned physician Hamid Qarahasanli and his wife, Farzaneh Qarahasanli.

Axar.az informs that local media reported on the appeal.

The authors of the letter stated that the charges and sentences against the Azerbaijani couple were unjust.

It should be noted that 48-year-old specialist Farzaneh Qarahasanli and her husband, 56-year-old radiologist Hamid Qarahasanli, were arrested on November 4, 2022, in the city of Karaj for participating in a protest. Farzaneh Qarahasanli was sentenced to 5 years in prison, while her husband received a 15-year sentence.
