Russian President Vladimir Putin once again apologized to former German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Putin denied allegations that Merkel deliberately scared him with a Labrador dog during her visit to Moscow.

Axar.az reports that Putin said this at his press conference.

“Angela, please forgive me. I didn't mean to hurt you. I would never have done this if I had known you were afraid of dogs. On the contrary, I wanted to create a pleasant atmosphere. Because I know that animals are treated well in Germany," Putin said.

The Russian leader recalled that he spoke with Merkel about this and apologized to her personally.

It should be noted that former Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel stated in her memoirs that during the talks with Vladimir Putin, the head of the Kremlin threatened her with a black Labrador dog. Merkel admitted that she was once bitten by a dog at the fair and was afraid of animals after that.

Angela Merkel's memoirs went on sale on November 26.
