The U.S. Department of Defense is not involved in the assassination of Igor Kirillov, the head of the Russian Armed Forces' radiation, chemical, and biological defense troops in Moscow, and does not support this type of activity.

Axar.az reports that Pentagon spokesperson Patrick Ryder made this statement during a press briefing with journalists.

"The Defense Department was "not aware of this operation in advance. We do not support or enable those kinds of activities. I’ve seen the reports, but don't really have any information to provide other than what I've seen in the press," he added.

It should be noted that yesterday morning, an explosion in Moscow resulted in the death of General-Lieutenant Igor Kirillov, the commander of the Russian Armed Forces' radiation, chemical, and biological defense troops. There are reports that he was killed in an assassination orchestrated by Ukraine's Military Intelligence.
