China pledged to accept the return of undocumented Chinese citizens in the US amid threats from U.S. President Donald Trump.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by the official representative of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mao Ning.

She said China will receive people who are confirmed as Chinese nationals from the mainland after verification, emphasizing the Chinese government firmly opposes any form of illegal migration.

It is worth mentioning that Colombia had refused to allow two U.S. military aircraft carrying deported migrants to land, after which Washington announced it would impose tariffs (25%), visa sanctions on Colombian government officials and allies, and strengthen customs checks and financial penalties.

Following this threat, Colombia backed down.
