Russia: WHO's demise overblown after US exit

Despite the US withdrawal, it is too early to write off and bury the World Health Organization (WHO).

Axar.az reports that Gennady Gatilov, Russia's permanent representative to the UN and other international organizations in Geneva, said this.

"According to the WHO Secretariat and many independent experts, the US withdrawal from the WHO will undoubtedly have negative consequences for global efforts aimed at achieving the highest level of health for all peoples. However, I would not rush to bury the organization just yet. As Mark Twain said, "The reports of its imminent demise have been greatly exaggerated," Gatilov said.
