Kuleba: Ukraine lost its nuclear option in 1994

Ukraine lost its chance to acquire nuclear weapons when it signed the Budapest Memorandum in 1994.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba.

“To go to the creation of nuclear weapons, we must understand that this means the loss of all partners, all weapons supplies, sanctions against Russia. That is, nuclear weapons are taboo. The chance to become a nuclear state was lost in 1994,” Kuleba said.
