Russia’s ambassador to Finland, Pavel Kuznetsov, has been summoned to the country's Foreign Ministry.

Axar.az reports that Finland’s Foreign Ministry announced this on its X account.

The ambassador was summoned due to a Russian aircraft violating Finland’s airspace, and an explanation was requested.

The suspected violation occurred over the Gulf of Finland, west of the town of Hanko, at around 5:15 p.m. (1515 GMT), the ministry said.

"The Russian plane is suspected of having flown in Finnish airspace for a few minutes," it said in a statement.
