Armenia hits $860M in transfers from Russia

In December 2024, transfers made by individuals to the country through the banking system exceeded $860 million.

Axar.az informs that this was reported in the information released by the Central Bank of Armenia.

In December, the main part of the funds also came from Russia: $648 million.

It was noted that this is a record figure recorded so far in the private money transfer sector.

In total, the amount of money transferred to Armenia by individuals through banks during 2024 reached $5 billion 837 million. The bulk of these funds - $4 billion 327 million - left the country.

One of the largest transfer destinations from Armenia was to the UAE. Last year, an inflow of $880 million was recorded from Armenia to this country, which is $309 million or 54 percent more than in 2023.

It should be noted that Armenia plays an exceptional role in breaking through sanctions on Russia. Also, a large amount of goods are imported from Dubai and exported to Russia.

Even though European media and experts have repeatedly proven with facts that Armenia is the main country that is breaking sanctions against Russia, the West for some reason "does not see" this process.
