Today, it is expected that the leader of the PKK terrorist organization, Abdullah Ocalan, will call on the organization to disarm from his prison in Imrali.

Axar.az reports that this information was shared by the Turkiye newspaper.

The report states that Ocalan's call will be read to the PKK by a delegation from the Peoples' Unity and Democracy Party (DEM), which will meet him at the prison today. The speech will be broadcast on big screens in the city squares of Diyarbakır and Van.

Ahmet Sozcan, the coordinator of TGRT TV, commented on the expected message from Imrali:

"The DEM Party will make a statement at 17:00 (18:00 Baku time) in Istanbul. It is reported that Ocalan’s declaration will be read out. The statement is expected to be one page long. In it, Abdullah Ocalan is expected to call on the PKK to end terrorism and announce that the terrorist organization should disband. The call will be made for the organization to convene a congress and declare that the PKK has been dissolved."

Sozcan added that Ocalan is expected to direct his message to four different centers:

"First, he will call on the PKK in Qandil (the main base in Iraq), secondly, he will address the YPG/SDF in Syria. It is expected that he will urge the terrorists to lay down their arms and join the Syrian army. He will particularly address the PKK’s European wing.

The other call will be to the DEM Party, urging them to cut ties with the terrorist organization and continue their democratic politics in Turkiye. Ocalan’s lawyers will also be part of the delegation. The statement will be read after the meeting."
