Ukrainian fighters who laid down their arms in the Kursk region will be provided with life and decent treatment.

Axar.az reports that these words were spoken by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting of the Security Council, responding to the call of US President Donald Trump.

"If they lay down their arms and surrender, they will be provided with life and decent treatment by international law and the laws of the Russian Federation," Putin said.

It should be noted that Trump had previously asked Putin to spare the Ukrainian soldiers besieged in Kursk. The White House, however, announced that Trump did not speak directly with Putin and that his special representative, Witkoff, met with the Russian leader in Moscow.
