The chances of reaching a new agreement to limit Iran's nuclear program are slim. If this agreement is not signed, it will be very difficult to avoid a military confrontation.

Axar.az reports that these words were said by French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot.

"There are only a few months left before this agreement (the nuclear deal signed with Iran in 2015 and from which the United States withdrew - ed..) expires. If the new agreement fails, it will be almost impossible to avoid military intervention," Barrot said during parliamentary hearings.

Barrot added that new EU sanctions against Iran regarding the detention of foreign citizens in the Islamic Republic will also be approved in the coming weeks.
