US President Donald Trump may sign an executive order next week that would limit the State Department's activities on the African continent and close a number of non-essential embassies and consulates.
Axar.az reports that the New York Times wrote about this.
"The White House's draft would significantly restructure the State Department, including cutting all activities in Africa and closing embassies and consulates on the continent. The purpose of the executive order, which President Trump is expected to sign next week, is to reorganize the State Department and streamline its mission by reducing waste, fraud, and abuse," the report said.

The State Department denied the claim by the New York Times and accused the publication of spreading false information.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio also called the information "fake" on his social media account, and the New York Times "another victim of lies."
