To achieve peace in Ukraine, it is necessary to withdraw Ukrainian troops from the territories of the Donbas and Novorossiya regions, which are part of Russia.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by the press secretary of the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov, in an interview with the French magazine "Le Point".

"If Ukraine withdraws its troops from these four regions (Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson - ed.), the conflict will end," he said.

Peskov noted that these regions are established in the Constitution of the Russian Federation as its constituent parts:

Currently, some territories of these regions are still occupied by the Kiev regime. As a result of referendums, these territories were included in the administrative borders of the Russian Federation. From our point of view, this is both a de jure and a de facto situation."

It should be noted that Crimea and the four regions in question are part of the borders of Ukraine recognized by international law.
