The name of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) may be changed.

Axar.az informs that TRNC President Ersin Tatar said this in an interview with journalist Hilmi Dashdemir.

He responded to the allegations about the country's name being changed as part of the upcoming visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Northern Cyprus: "My expectation is that this will happen. I also have the same position on this idea. The federation book is closed. "North" has also lost its meaning. There is no such thing as a north-south state. There are now two different states."

E. Tatar did not rule out that the TRNC's name will be the Turkish Republic of Cyprus.
