An initiative has been put forward to address the problem of the decreasing water level in the Caspian Sea.
Axar.az reports that the author of the initiative is honored engineer and businessman Musa Suleymanov.
He addressed the leaders of the Caspian states on behalf of ADOG and the Zira International Port.
The appeal states:
Respected Sirs,
On behalf of ADOG Company and Zira International Port, actively operating in the construction and maritime logistics sectors of Azerbaijan and the Caspian region, I extend my deepest respect to you.
The decline in the water level of the Caspian Sea has turned into an irreversible process and poses serious risks to the economy, ecosystem, and security of the coastal states. Considering the importance of the issue, we present our conceptual initiative aimed at stabilizing the sea’s water balance.
The core of our proposal:
- Construction of a large-diameter (10 meters) underground tunnel connecting the Black Sea (Georgian or Russian coast) to the Caspian Sea.
- Using the higher elevation of the Black Sea to allow natural gravitational flow of water into the Caspian Sea (no pumps required).
- Implementation of necessary measures and environmental monitoring at all stages of the project to ensure ecological sustainability and preservation of biodiversity.
ADOG Company is ready to mobilize the necessary resources to prepare the feasibility study of this project.
Considering the strategic importance of the initiative, we kindly request that it be reviewed at the state level and that authorized governmental bodies be instructed to engage in preliminary consultations. Your support will be decisive for the success of this initiative.
Thank you for your attention, and we look forward to future cooperation.
Sincerely,
Musa Suleymanov, Honored Engineer
Director of ADOG Company and Zira International Port
