China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi voiced support for Iran’s nuclear diplomacy during a meeting with Iranian security chief Ali Shamkhani in Brazil.

Axar.az reports that Wang praised Iran’s commitment not to develop nuclear weapons and its cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency, ahead of renewed U.S.-Iran nuclear talks set for Saturday in Rome.

As tensions rise, the U.S. has imposed new sanctions targeting Iranian oil-related entities.

Wang, who previously helped broker the 2023 Saudi-Iran rapprochement, reaffirmed China’s interest in playing a stabilizing diplomatic role in the Middle East despite ongoing regional crises.
