Syria has condemned an Israeli airstrike on Daraa, claiming it caused major casualties and damage.

Axar.az, citing JP, reports that the strike followed rocket attacks from southern Syria, which Israel attributes to Hamas operatives in Syria, allegedly backed by Hamas leadership.

The IDF stated the rockets caused no damage but launched retaliatory strikes.

Syria denies involvement, calls Israel’s response a violation of sovereignty, and emphasizes its commitment to regional stability. A Palestinian group named the Martyr Muhammad al-Deif Brigades claimed responsibility for the rocket barrage.

It remains unclear if the rocket attacks from Syria and Yemen were coordinated, and investigations are ongoing.
