The Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, Alen Simonyan, has called Margarita Simonyan—a Russian propagandist and editor-in-chief of the Rossiya Segodnya media group and RT television channel—“a vile creature from a circus of the grotesque.”
Axar.az reports that he made the statement on his X page.
“Yet another vile creature from the grotesque circus currently operating in Russia continues to interfere in our country’s sovereign affairs. Apart from having a surname that ends in ‘-yan’ and occasionally referencing her Armenian roots, this person has no real connection to Armenia or the Armenian people. She occasionally appears in the media to insult Armenia’s leadership, incite the public to protest, and call for the government’s overthrow. Alongside threatening our nation and people, she also spreads lies. You’ve probably guessed by now—we’re talking about Simonyan, who is once again disseminating falsehoods based on a nonexistent document, citing unnamed authors from an imaginary newspaper. Apparently, the circus mentioned above has kicked off its own Olympics, under the following slogans: ‘More lies,’ ‘More filth,’ ‘More disgrace.’ And Simonyan is fighting for yet another gold medal,” he stated.
