Azerbaijan can and already does play an important role in the Middle East region.

Axar.az reports that Israeli Ambassador to Azerbaijan George Dick said this while answering a question from journalists.

"I want to thank Azerbaijan for providing a venue for the negotiations," he noted.

"Azerbaijan has played an important and key role in the rapprochement between Turkiye and Israel. Baku also plays an important role in other regional issues in the Middle East, including Syria," the ambassador said.

He also noted that Azerbaijan's participation in the Abraham Accords, Israel's mediation and negotiations with other countries, symbolize the influence Baku has developed in the region and the improvement of relations between the parties.
