More than 1,300 Armenian cargo trucks are waiting to cross at the “Upper Lars” border checkpoint on the Russia–Georgia border.

Axar.az informs that this information was reported by Armenian media.

It was noted that a total of 3,612 trucks are currently in line, 1,350 of which are from Armenia.

The congestion is reportedly due to the high number of Russian citizens traveling to Georgia and Armenia for tourism. Some travelers are forced to wait between 4 to 8 hours to cross the border.

It is worth noting that the Lars military road is the only land route connecting Armenia and Russia.
