A dredging vessel struck a mine in Ukraine’s Odesa region, resulting in the deaths of three people.

Axar.az reports that the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority reported the incident, which occurred in the evening hours of July 23.

“The vessel, with a crew of 11, was carrying out scheduled dredging operations at the Bystroe estuary. As a result of the explosion, three crew members were killed. The remaining crew members are currently in the hospital and are receiving all necessary medical assistance,” the statement said.

Emergency services are working at the scene, and the details of the incident are being clarified.
