On January 18, Minister of Defense Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov met with the delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister of Slovakia Robert Kalinak, who is on an official visit to Azerbaijan.

First of all, the Slovak guests visited the graves of our citizens who died for the independence and territorial integrity of our country in the Alley of Martyrs and showed respect for their memory. A wreath was placed in front of the "Eternal Torch" monument.
Then an official welcoming ceremony was held at the Ministry of Defense. Ministers of defense passed in front of the honor guard. National anthems of both countries were played accompanied by an exemplary military orchestra. According to the protocol, the "Book of Honor" was signed.
General Colonel Z. Hasanov welcomed the guests and expressed his pleasure to see them in our country. The Minister of Defense informed the delegation about the demining and reconstruction works carried out in the liberated areas after the Victory in the Patriotic War under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Mr. Ilham Aliyev.
The importance of developing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Slovakia in military-technical, military education, and other fields was emphasized.
Expressing his gratitude for the warm reception and hospitality, R. Kalinak congratulated his Azerbaijani colleague on the restoration of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country. He expressed the importance of developing a mutual experience exchange with the Azerbaijan Army, one of the strongest armies in the region, as well as studying modern combat operations. It was pointed out that such visits are of special importance.
In the end, there was a broad exchange of views between Azerbaijan and Slovakia on many issues of interest in the military field.
