US Federal Reserve cuts discount rate to 4–4.25%

The US Federal Reserve System (FES) has reduced the discount rate by 25 basis points to an annual range of 4-4.25% per annum.

Axar.az reports that this was stated in the information released on the results of the meeting of the Federal Open Market Operations Committee of the FES.

The FES confirmed its commitment to return inflation to 2% while maintaining maximum employment.

It should be noted that in July, the FES kept the discount rate at the level of 4.25-4.5% per annum.
