Azerbaijan to halt AI-95 gasoline production in 2026

Next year, the production of AI-95 gasoline is not planned in Azerbaijan.

Axar.az reports that this is reflected in the state budget envelope for 2026.

According to the document, excise revenues in 2026 are expected to amount to 1 billion 584 million manat. 49.2% of this amount, or 779 million manat, will fall to the share of the oil and gas sector. Revenues from the oil and gas sector are 196.7 million manat, or 20.2%, less than the forecast for 2025.

According to the document, the production of AI-95 gasoline, which is produced in the country and intended for domestic consumption, is not planned for next year. At the same time, a decrease in the consumption of AI-92 gasoline is projected by 239.9 thousand tons, or 14.7%, and in diesel fuel by 298.5 thousand tons, or 13.7%.

It should be noted that in January-September 2025, 1 million 67.54 thousand tons of AI-92 gasoline were produced in Azerbaijan. This is an increase of 2.1% compared to the same period last year.

In the same period, only 13.8 thousand tons of AI-95 gasoline were produced in the country, which is 45% less than last year.
