Russian gas flows via TurkStream rise 10%

Russia's gas exports to Europe via the TurkStream undersea pipeline increased by 10% in January compared to the same period last year.

Axar.az informs that Reuters reported this.

"Russian energy giant Gazprom has set a new average daily volume of natural gas supplies to Europe via the TurkStream undersea pipeline in January. There was a 10.3% increase in January compared to the same period last year.

After Ukraine's decision not to extend a five-year transit agreement with Moscow, which expires in January 2025, Turkey remains the only transit route for Russian gas to Europe.

Transportation of Russian gas to Europe via the TurkStream in January amounted to 1.73 billion cubic meters, compared to 1.57 billion cubic meters in the same period last year," the report said.

It should be noted that in 2025, Gazprom's gas exports to Europe decreased by 44% after the closure of the Ukrainian route, reaching the lowest level since the mid-1970s.
