Armenia says Russia joining TRIPP project would be absurd

Armenian National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan has commented on the possibility of Russia joining the TRIPP project (“Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity”).

Axar.az informs “If we are talking about opening some kind of route or road, then in my view it should be formalized as a separate initiative. Within the framework of TRIPP, this looks somewhat absurd, as it would essentially mean doing everything to ensure that TRIPP does not work,” Simonyan said.

Commenting on the interest shown by the Russian side, the parliamentary speaker described it as a normal pattern of behavior typical of great powers.

According to him, there is nothing new or unusual about this, as all states seek to maintain and expand their influence in neighboring countries.
