Azerbaijan delivers 105M cubic meters of gas to Syria

Azerbaijan supplied 105.4 million cubic meters of natural gas to Syria via Turkiye in January of this year.

Axar.az reports that the figures were released in a recent report by Turkiye's Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK).

The delivery stems from a Memorandum of Understanding reached on July 12, 2025, during an official visit to Baku by Syria’s Transitional President, Ahmed al-Sharaa. The agreement was finalized by Mikayil Jabbarov, Chairman of the SOCAR Supervisory Board, and Syrian Energy Minister Mohammad al-Bashir.

Following the rapid completion of technical infrastructure and a "swap" agreement with Turkiye, the export of Azerbaijani gas through Turkish territory to Syria officially launched on August 2, 2025.
