Azerbaijan allocates 2.46bn manats for debt servicing

Azerbaijan's 2026 state budget allocates 2.4576 billion manats for servicing public debt and related obligations.

Axar.az reports, citing the Ministry of Finance, that 944.8 million manats was paid toward public debt servicing in the first half of the year.

According to the ministry, the payments included 275.9 million manats in interest on domestic public debt and 668.9 million manats on external public debt, including 494.2 million manats in principal repayments and 174.7 million manats in interest.

Taking into account operational data on funds used under externally financed projects, as well as principal repayments on external debt, Azerbaijan's external public debt stood at $4.6168 billion as of July 1, 2026.

Preliminary data show that external public debt was equivalent to 6.0% of the country's projected GDP for 2026 as of July 1.

According to the same preliminary data, domestic public debt totaled 15.982 billion manats as of July 1, 2026, representing 12.2% of the projected GDP for the year.
