Azerbaijani ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Dashgin Shikarov has discussed the launch of a new flight from Abu Dhabi to Baku with Peter Baumgartner, Executive Director of Etihad Airways, one of the world`s top 10 airlines.

Ambassador Shikarov said that thanks to continuous reforms Azerbaijan maintained a strong tourism attractiveness. “The flow of tourists from Gulf countries to Azerbaijan saw a 30-fold growth. So we need more direct flights,” he said.

The ambassador pointed out that Baku-Abu Dhabi flight will be attractive for Azerbaijani passengers. Shikarov also said that the two countries` signing an agreement to ease visa procedures for UAE citizens will make Baku even more attractive for tourists from the UAE.
