Saudi, Kuwait discover new oil field

Saudi Arabia and Kuwait announced today the discovery of a new oil field in the Divided Zone.

Axar.az informs that this was reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

It is noted that oil was discovered in the North Wafra Wara-Burgan field, located 5 kilometers north of the Wafra field, as part of the joint Wafra operations carried out by the governments of both countries.

“This is the first discovery since the resumption of production in the Divided Zone, a shared border area between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, and in the adjacent sea in mid-2020.

This discovery is considered very significant, given the positive impact it has on both countries' reputations as reliable global energy suppliers and their capabilities in the exploration and production sector,” the agency noted.
