The grateful people of Georgia will never forget friendly assistance provided by Azerbaijan in the most difficult times, Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze said.

He made the remarks during a meeting with Azerbaijani Prime Minister Artur Rasizade in Baku March 7.

Mutually beneficial cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia in the socio-political, economic and cultural areas stand at a high level, the sides said, highlighting the importance of developing this cooperation in the future.

The sides considered it necessary to intensify the work of the Azerbaijani-Georgian intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation, underlining the importance of joint efforts in large-scale global projects in energy, transport and other spheres.

In addition, they mentioned that this cooperation is of historical importance in term of the development of the region and serves the interests of the whole Europe.

Speaking about the international and regional problems, the sides stressed the need for a speedy settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in line with the principles of territorial integrity and inviolability of borders.
