President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received the delegation led by EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Herbert Salber on March 16.

EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Herbert Salber expressed his gratitude to Ilham Aliyev at the opportunity of visit after several weeks High Representative of the European Union Federica Mogherini’s visit to Azerbaijan.

After Federica Mogherini’s visit to the country, new opportunities for further expansion of cooperation come out, said Herbert Salber. He noted that the EU can contribute resolving of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

President Ilham Aliyev stressed that High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission Federica Mogherini’s visit to Azerbaijan was successful and productive.

Ilham Aliyev said that it has good prospects for future partnership, expressing his satisfaction with the cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views over the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as well as development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union in various areas was discussed .
