In 1978, the Armenian community living in Nagorno-Karabakh erected a monument "MARAGA 150" in the village of Maragha in the former Aghdere region on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the resettlement of the first 200 Armenian families from Iran to Nagorno-Karabakh after the Turkmenchay Treaty.
Axar.az informs this was reported by the Azerbaijani community of the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan.
It was noted that the monument was later destroyed by Armenians as Armenia's territorial claims against Azerbaijan intensified.
"However, despite the collapse, the remains of the monument still remain and, according to the new administrative division, are located in Shikharkh settlement of Tartar region. Despite being very close to the line of contact, the area is under the control of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces."
