Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov attended and delivered a speech at the Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit held in Doha, the capital of the State of Qatar.
Axar.az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, that in the speech, it was stated that the recent airstrike on Qatar was of deep concern, and support for Qatar's sovereignty and territorial integrity was expressed. It was called for not to further deepen tensions by adhering to the principles of international law and the UN Charter.
Qatar's mediation efforts to resolve the current situation in the Gaza Strip were highly appreciated, and the need to resume negotiations between the parties and achieve a permanent ceasefire was emphasized.
In general, in the context of the Palestinian issue, it was once again emphasized that our country, guided by the "two-state" principle, supports the solution in accordance with the norms and principles of international law and relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council.
In addition to peace initiatives towards resolving the crisis in the region, the importance of humanitarian aid efforts was noted.
In this context, it was stated that, as a continuation of Azerbaijan's support to the brotherly Palestinian people in previous years, humanitarian aid in the amount of 2 million US dollars has been allocated since 2023, when the escalation began. In addition, the speech noted that our country has implemented support projects for Palestine in the fields of education and healthcare.
