Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov on the sidelines of the Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit held in Doha, the capital of the State of Qatar.
Axar.az reports that according to the information provided by the Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the dynamic development of Azerbaijani-Uzbek relations at the level of strategic alliance in all areas, and it was emphasized that the foundation of these relations is the friendly and fraternal relations and close contacts between the heads of state of the two countries.
They exchanged views on joint activities and projects aimed at further expanding bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investments, transport, energy, culture, and humanitarian affairs.
They exchanged views on issues of mutual support and cooperation within international and regional organizations, including the UN, the Organization of Turkic States, the Non-Aligned Movement, the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Economic Cooperation Organization.
Jeyhun Bayramov informed his counterpart about the preparations for the next Summit of the Organization of Turkic States, which our country will host in October of this year.
Concern was expressed about security issues and regional developments, including the conflict in the Middle East, and consensus was expressed that the growing tension should be resolved through diplomatic means.
During the meeting, views were also exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.
