Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received Chief of the General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces Selcuk Bayrakdaroglu in Shusha on September 15.
Axar.az reports that Selcuk Bayrakdaroglu, who expressed gratitude for the reception, conveyed the greetings of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the head of state.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed gratitude for the greetings and asked him to convey his greetings to the Turkish President.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that the fraternal and strategic alliance relations between the countries are developing successfully in all directions, including in the military field.
Stating that there are no countries as close to each other as Azerbaijan and Turkey, the head of state noted that our unity is an important factor on a global scale.
President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that a period of peace has already begun in the region. During the conversation, the importance of signing the Declaration on Allied Relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey in 2021 was touched upon.
It was noted with satisfaction that today's meeting coincides with September 15 - the 107th anniversary of the liberation of Baku from the Dashnak-Bolshevik occupation by the Caucasian Islamic Army.
During the conversation, views were exchanged on further developing cooperation based on brotherhood and strategic alliance between the military structures of Azerbaijan and Turkey.
