A delegation led by the European Union’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Marijana Kujundžić, has visited Nakhchivan.
Axar.az reports that during the meeting, it was emphasized that relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union, based on strategic partnership, friendship, and mutual trust, have been developing successfully under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. It was noted that long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation between EU member states and Azerbaijan is of particular importance.
During the discussions, satisfaction was expressed with the agreements reached within the framework of the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Attention was drawn to the strategic importance of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic as a key region in establishing communications along the Middle Corridor. Views were also exchanged on Nakhchivan’s economic potential, its renewable energy opportunities, the significance of 10-year tax incentives applied to entrepreneurs, and measures being implemented to transform the region into a free economic zone in the future.
Ambassador Marijana Kujundžić highlighted the importance of starting her first business visit in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. The economic aspects of projects to be implemented by the European Union in the coming years were discussed. The significance of the presentation conference of the “Covenant of Mayors – East” project, scheduled to take place tomorrow, was also noted.
