Armenia, US to sign TRIPP deal in coming weeks

A framework agreement on the TRIPP (“Trump route”) project between Armenia and the United States is expected to be signed within a few weeks.

Axar.az reports, citing Armenian media, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan made the announcement.

Mirzoyan said that the framework agreement on strategic cooperation under the TRIPP project, which was initialed today, will be officially signed in the coming weeks.

He noted that the text of the document has been fully agreed at the political level, but technical procedures still need to be completed in both countries.

“The document on Trump's itinerary, initialed today, will be signed within a few weeks,” the minister said.

He also added that several other documents, including the charter of the TRIPP company, need to be signed as part of the preparation process.

He said that there are countries and companies that are interested in the project. It is not only about the railway, but also about power lines, pipelines, construction or the supply of goods, rails and computer programs.

According to him, an exchange of views has taken place on these issues, but the minister has not mentioned names yet.
