President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev is planning to visit Turkmenistan, a state news agency of Turkmenistan reported.

According to information, one of the purposes of the visit to Turkmenistan of the Azerbaijani delegation led by Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov was to discuss the preparatory work for the Azerbaijani president’s visit to Turkmenistan.

Last August Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov paid an official visit to Baku. The agreements reached during the Turkmen president’s visit to Baku were discussed during the Azerbaijani delegation’s visit to Turkmenistan.
