Lavrov says Turkiye seeks good ties with Russia

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Turkiye is genuinely interested in maintaining stability in the Black Sea.

Axar.az informs, citing Russian media, that Lavrov made the remarks in an interview with the Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.

“Turkiye wants to be a NATO member as the alliance’s largest army and maintain relations with the European Union, although deep down it understands that it will never be admitted to the EU. It wants to have good relations with Russia because we have many economic projects and a shared history involving the Caucasus and the Black Sea. Turkiye is genuinely interested in ensuring that the Black Sea remains stable,” he said.
